Special price for limited time Development and trends in IT Spending 2009 The study aims to measure the principal investment trends in information technologies across Latin America and involved over 350 telephone interviews with IT leaders from throughout the region that belong to the principal sectors of business and government regarding issues like SOA, ASP, operating systems, hardware preferences and investment attitudes. Besides the survey and results analysis, the report will include an investigation of IT trends in Latin America and will analyze and compare the results of the survey with the data collected during the 2006 IT study. Sample: For this study, we called more than 350 interviewees in the following countries and sub-regions: - Brazil - Mexico - Argentina - Chile - Colombia - Venezuela - Peru -Central America Some conclusions we reached in this study: - A major portion of companies surveyed (46%) plan to focus IT investment on expansion and newprojects instead of maintaining existing operations. - There exists open and widespread interest in making use of IP platforms (76% of companies surveyed) and a growing interest in mobile technology. - Demand is up for the development of in-house technologies and investments are growing in CRM and Business Intelligence (40% of companies surveyed are considering implementing them sometime during the next 3 years). - HP and Dell have taken the lead in the area of hardware.
